Ingredients:
This is a recipe that my mom made when I was little so I was going to try and recreate it in my own tiny kitchen.
First lets get all the stuff we need together:
-You will need some chicken. I used 4 breasts since I was expecting to feed 5-6 people.
-2 cans of cream of something-you can use whatever you want, I used cream of celery
- some milk
- parsley
- pepper I used seasoned pepper too since I love the stuff
- Bisquick biscuit mix or some other brand
And for the broccoli you need:
- brocoli I used enough to fill a small sauce pan
- 6oz cheese
- 1/3 cups milk
- salt

Step 1:
Ok first let's deal with the chicken.
Combine your cream of and milk in your casserole dish. My mom said she always measured out the milk simply by filling a cream of can twice. Make sure you get all of the chuncks broken up. Add some parsley, pepper, and seasoned pepper.

Step 2:
Next put your chicken into the sauce. Try and get as much of the chicken submerged as possible. If you can't that's ok, just be sure to flip your chicken half way through cooking it. At the very least spoon some sauce onto the chicken to get it somewhat covered.
Cover this with foil and throw it in the oven at 350F for about 30-45 min, depending on how thick your chicken is.

Step 3:
Now lets get to that green stuff. First cut your broccoli up.
Step 4:
Next put a little water and salt into a small sauce pan. Toss your broccoli in there and cover it. Heat it on medium for about 10 min until the broccoli is done.
Step 5:
While the broccoli is doing it's thing combine your 1/3 cup milk and you cheese in another sauce pan. Heat that on medium as well.
Step 6:
Be sure to stir your mixture a lot. When the cheese has all melted take it off the heat.
Step 7:
At this point your broccoli should have been done for a bit. Strain it and put in in a bowl or on a platter. Pour the cheese sauce over the broccoli and mix it in. My cheese sauce was a little too thin, but it worked out ok.

Step 8:
Make the biscuits according to the directions on the package. For Bisquick this meant 2 cups of mix and 2/3 cups of milk. Add some more parsley and pepper .
Step 9:
Mix this up until it forms on fairly consisten blob.
Step 10:
At this point the chicken should be ready for the dumplings to be added. Pull out your chicken and take off the tin foil. The chicken should be mostly done, but have some spots uncooked. One spoonfull at a time drop in some biscuit mix next to the chicken.
Step 11:
Turn the oven temp up to 400F and let it cook for about 20 more minutes. Your finished product will have browned dumplings sticking out above the sauce.
You probably want to reheat the broccoli a bit at this point. I just threw it in the microwave and was done with it. Serve the chicken and dumplings with cheesy broccoli up traditional family style.
